The Women Behind Codeweavers

Diverse teams drive innovation, expansion and success, something we have known since Day 1. Since our Women In Tech series 2024, Codeweavers has continued to expand not only our product suite, offices and culture, but, more importantly, our team. Our latest feature highlights the experiences of women in Tech, shared by those who know it best, finding out more about the women behind Codeweavers.

We interviewed women from multiple departments within Codeweavers to get a true insight into their journeys into the Tech industry, their advice, experiences, insights and more. We have taken some of the best snippets from the full interviews with our team. To see the complete episodes, head to our Youtube Channel to view the Women In Tech series 2025 with episodes released throughout April.

Jess Allman

Account Manager

What advice would you give to someone starting in the Tech industry?

“I always had the perception that it would be very male dominated. But I think once you are here, it doesn’t feel like that at all. So, my advice would be, don’t have that in the back of your mind, especially when you are deciding what job to go into or the industry. Just relax. If you enjoy it, you go for that role. You deserve to be there just as much as anyone else."

Rosalind Lockley

Account Manager

What has been the most rewarding part of your career?

“It’s been extremely rewarding seeing more women coming into the industry and also watching more women flourish in these roles. I have seen so many women and made so many friends within the industry and to watch them put themselves forward in their positions is so inspiring, and it is so rewarding to see that and be part of that culture”

Danica Renata

Senior Technical Support Analyst

What advice would you give to women starting out in their Tech careers?

"Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. I know it can feel quite intimidating coming into this industry especially when it is a predominantly male field, but it is about having confidence, knowing your ability and being confident in your knowledge. Find those opportunities of growth and pushing yourself for those… the place where you can learn the most is often outside of your comfort zone."

Nikita Morgan

Senior Product Owner

Have you faced any challenges in your career?

“Unfortunately yes, navigating those situations where we are treated differently than our male colleagues unfortunately still exists. There have been moments, back at the start, where I was not able to be assertive, or I would not have had the confidence to show that I understood I knew what was going on above them … but now, I have tackled those issues and come up with certain strategies to overcome that anxiety of being assertive. I do know what I am talking about! I know when I stand up for myself, it is something to be really proud of."

Kirsty Gasson

Lead Frontend Software Engineer

Has being a woman been a barrier to your success?

“It has not been a noticeable part of our company or work life at all. I know others have experienced discrimination elsewhere, but certainly at Codeweavers your success is based very much on the merit of your work and how you are performing. I am happy that I have had the opportunity to progress within the company throughout the time I have been here with no barriers to success”

Megan Renshaw

Backend Software Engineer

What excites you the most about the future of tech, and specifically within your role as a Developer?

“I think the fact that the industry is moving as quickly as it is – I graduated only last year and already a lot of what I learnt is outdated! … In terms of advancements, AI is the next big thing, people are saying that is going to replace us which I don’t think is going to happen any time soon, but it is certainly an interesting topic”

Our Women in Tech series covers many areas of working life for much of our team, straight from the women who experience it. Discussing thoughts and ideas on what is stopping more women from joining the industry, how women can support each other and pursuing a career in Tech is important to understand the future of women within the industry, and to inform and encourage other women to seek out jobs in Tech.
